Skiing, Snowboarding &
Snowshoeing

There are over two million acres of public land in Sublette County, providing
vistas of incredible beauty.

Whether you are an alpine, nordic, or backcountry skier, a snowboarder, or into snowshoeing, there are plenty of trails for you to explore in our winter wonderland.  The skiing season typically runs from December through mid-April.

Safety is paramount when venturing into the backcountry for skiing adventures. Before setting out, it's crucial to check weather conditions, and avalanche forecasts, and ensure you have the necessary gear, including a beacon, probe, and shovel. Always traveling with a knowledgeable friend or two. Inform someone about your itinerary. Stay informed about the terrain, be mindful of potential avalanche zones, and practice efficient route-finding. Carry extra layers, food, and water, as conditions can change rapidly in the backcountry. Equip yourself with proper knowledge of first aid, and always prioritize communication — be it with your skiing companions or through means like radios or satellite devices. Remember, the thrill of backcountry skiing is best enjoyed when balanced with a commitment to safety practices and preparedness.

Kelly Park Cross Country Ski Trail
Etiquette

Remember these are multi-use trails, to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone, remember:

If you bring your favorite furry four-footed friends with you, bag and pack out their poop, don't leave it on the trail. Keep them close to you and don't let them chase wildlife.

When sharing multi-use cross-country ski and fat tire bike trails, communicate clearly, yield to other users, and adhere to trail etiquette.
